RDA
often serves as a mediator, facilitator, and/or problem-solver for
residents experiencing conflict. This RDA program, officially called
the Rosedale Conflict Resolution Center (RCRC), is
designed to empower residents to resolve their own neighborhood
problems through the process of mediation.
Mediation
services are provided at little or no cost to participants, and
are intended to foster an environment of respect, open communication,
and nonviolent conflict resolution. Most conflicts that the RCRC
deals with are civil (i.e. non-criminal) matters, such as property
line, fencing, parking, noise, and animal disputes.
The
RCRC also provides workshop trainings on conflict resolution for
neighborhood groups, police officers, city staff, and others.
