Job Title: Youth Volunteer
Club program assistant
Responsibilities: Mentor,
teach, and interact with 5th graders as part of this service-learning
program designed to increase civic awareness. At each session, students
learn about a topic of community interest through guest speakers,
hands-on workshops, and field trips, and then participate in a service
project related to the topic. Possible topics include: protecting
the environment, caring for veterans and senior citizens, understanding
the role of news media, etc.
Qualifications: Enjoy teaching and working with
youth.
Time Commitment: 1st Wednesday of the month, 2:00-5:00
p.m. (Frank Rushton Elem.); 2nd Wednesday of the month, 1:30-4:30
p.m. (T.A. Edison Elem.).
Benefits: Teaching youth about the value of community
