Rosedale is home to 15,000
residents. Our businesses enjoy the central location, with easy
access to major highways, including I-35 and the 18th St. Expressway.
The University of Kansas Medical Center is located within our community
and is a major employer in the area. Housing values have increased
and crime has decreased in recent years. Rosedale is a prime location
for new businesses and for families to grow.
The Rosedale Development
Association (RDA) began as the Rosedale Community Council in 1945
as an organization to help the community address crime, zoning,
flooding, abandoned buildings, area clean up, and has since grown
into a provider of social services, all the while maintaining its
original role in the community. RDA was incorporated into its current
form in 1978.
RDA is a practicum site
for the KU School of Social Welfare and the Mennonite Voluntary
Service program. Students and interns assigned to RDA help the organization
meet the needs of the Rosedale community.
