Wendy Wilson, Executive Director

Wendy brings many

years of experience in the not-for-profit sector to her job, which she has held since 1993. She is known for her no-nonsense attitude and passionate dedication to the work of community building. She has a B.F.A. from the Kansas City Art Institute. Wendy has served on the following boards and task forces in the Kansas City metropolitan area:

Donna Devine, Program Manager for the Rosedale Community Project

Every school year, Donna supervises BSW and MSW students from the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare, who provide community social work services in Rosedale. Prior to coming to Rosedale, Donna worked for the court system in Missouri and Kansas, helping to develop social service programs to assist families in the areas of domestic violence, substance abuse, juvenile delinquency, divorce, and child abuse and neglect. She possesses an MSW degree.

 

Linda Wright, Office Manager

Linda has lived in Rosedale since 1991 and has a deep love for her community. As Office Manager, she takes care of organizational tasks, answering the phones, paying bills and preparing financial reports - basically, she keeps the office running smoothly. Linda enjoys her position, as it keeps her involved in her community.

 

Joel Goering, Community Organizer

Joel joined RDA inJoel helping with the Chess Club September 2004 as a full-time volunteer through the Mennonite Voluntary Service program. He graduated from Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas, with a B.A. in Peace and Justice Studies and Bible and Religion. He writes articles for the monthly RDA newsletter and updates the RDA website. His real calling is in community organizing and promoting social justice. To those ends, he oversees the Rosedale Conflict Resolution Center (RCRC), a community mediation program that helps residents address and resolve neighborhood disputes. He also helps run the R.O.C.K. (Rosedale Organization for Community Kids) program, an after-school club for local youth which teaches team-building and social skills. Joel also assists with the Summer Youth Employment program.


Mikey Fletcher, Community Organizer

Mikey has been focused on working with communities all over the world including: Nepal, India, Maui, South Africa, and locally: Ivanhoe in Missouri and Roeland Park in Johnson County. Mikey began working with the Rosedale community in the summer of 2007. He was a KU intern with Donna Devine, primarily working at the Rosedale Middle School on program development. Now, having graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors in Social Welfare, Mikey brings the knowledge of the classroom and an enthusiasm for project development to the residents of Rosedale.

 

Mikey's current projects are the 42nd Street Mural Project, the Rosedale Service Learning Program, the Rosedalian newsletter, and the Rosedale Development Association web site.
